Central India
is known for its diverse topography, climate and vegetation. Many hill ranges
like Vindhya, Satpura, Aravali, Maikal and Ajanta
are located in this region and support a one of a kind mix of flora and fauna. Within
the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh are the Kanha and Pench National Parks.
Kanha, one of India's
largest National Parks, hosts herds of animals and is prime tiger country. Kanha National
Park is one of the largest tiger reserves of the
country. It is located in Mandla District of Madhya Pradesh and is known for
its outstanding natural beauty and diverse flora and fauna. Kanha National Park
is also popular for its tigers. there are over 15 national parks and 35
wildlife sanctuaries in Central India.
Bandhavgarh National Park
is famous for its tiger populations. White Tigers are the major attractions of Bandhavgarh National Park. Other significant wild
animals include Wild dogs, Sloth Bears, Leopards, Rhesus Macaques, Sambar, Chital,
Chausingha (4-horned antelope) among others. The teak jungle of Pench National
Park was the backdrop for Kipling's The Jungle Book and where David
Attenborough filmed the famous documentary "Tiger: Spy in the Jungle".
