The Gumti Wildlife haven is a
trademark of the usual inheritance of Tripura and gives evidence to the varied
Tripura flora and fauna. Amidst the renowned wildlife sanctuaries located in
this state, Gumti Wildlife Sanctuary, placed in the southern east limit of
Tripura. The safe haven covers a total area of (389.59 sq. km) also abode a
mesmerizing water stream which itself extents transversely a vicinity of (Three
Hundred sq. km).
Gumti Wildlife Sanctuary,is one of
the well-known haven which speck the jungle-draped topography of Tripura, one
of the seven sisters which jointly form the gorgeous northeast part of India . The
haven is mainly renowned for the Bison, elephants, Sambar, barking deer and
also the multicolored kind of migratory and domestic birds which seek shelter
in the haven's sheltered territories. Several resident and migratory birds
flock to this reservoir and hence can be spotted easily. Spend some time
watching the colourful birds and take back home some memories in the form of
photographs. It is the second sanctuary of Tripura.
A wide variety of plants and
animals can be spotted here. Several medicinal plants are found in and around
the sanctuary. The sanctuary is a haven for botanical researchers.
